RSVP for Gluten Free Twitter Party

Please join the Gluten Free Twitter Party that is set to take place on Friday, April 3, 2009. This is coinciding with my 49th birthday. There will be panel members to share their experiences plus answer any questions you may have. Feel free to post any questions in the comment section here and I will tweet them to the panels that are set for 9AM, 1PM and 7:30 PM PST. Please do note this is pacific standard time as I am located in California and these times are doable for me and cross over timezones to cover more twitter members.

The hashtag to be utilized for the gluten free twitter party is #gfree. There are various twitter applications that you can use. I prefer www.summize.com where you would just type in #gfree and follow along in real time with the other twitter members. I keep a window open from panel member(s) and summize. When you hit reply in summize it opens a new window in twitter with the @ sign ready to respond to that twitter member. You might want to close window when it has finished posting. You will also need to make room in your tweet for the #gfree hashtag.

There is also www.tweetchat.com where you would sign in using your twitter ID and password and when it asks what room to enter you would type in #gfree. I have tried it a few times. You do not have to keep typing in the hashtag if you use tweetchat.

Another option is to utilize www.tweetdeck.com. I went there once and got lost so never tried to figure it out. There are many twitter members that use this if you seek guidance. I would test it out now with other twitter gatherings that take place on a weekly basis like Monday nights it is #journchat and Tuesday evenings it is #gno (girls night out).

I suggest trying these out if you are new to twitter to see how real time chat events work and how they flow, etc. When you RSVP below in Mr Linky you will be using your twitter ID, not a website as this is a twitter party and going to your website is not going to help another twitter member follow you at the party.

The party is not just on gluten free, but also covering gluten casein free, otherwise known as gfcf, also gfcfsf (soy free) there is also dairy free (casein) and nut free. Some may be going over food allergies, covering preparing lunches for school, implementing a diet or lifestyle change with the whole family, how to handle birthday parties, school parties, holidays, visiting relatives and if special notations on food containers or the person is necessary.

Discussion on how to get an Epi-Pen funded and how to inform other parents at school if contamination is a life threatening issue. We will learn where to get recipes, how to cook from scratch and which sites sell the mixes and other food related products.

Panel members will tweet about books they utilized when starting a lifestyle change and which magazines they subscribe to, which restaurants have a gluten free menu. Prizes will be given out at the panel times that relate to the topic.
