RSVP for Autism Twitter Day

Please join in on autism twitter day Tuesday, December 16, 2008 to promote positive autism awareness. There are blog posts here showing the prizes to be awarded based on your autism knowledge.

There will be panel members at 9AM, 12:30PM and 8:00PM pacific standard time. Questions will be tweeted at those times as well as throughout the day. Please follow and use #ASD hashtag to post on autism by sharing about your family experience, school, bus, behavior, therapies, diets, social skills, independent living, hygiene, bullying, IEPs, respite, books, toys, etc. that have helped your family. This includes sharing links to your sites and blog posts.

This is open to twitter members, specifically those who are members of the autism community, whether it be a parent, sibling or relative. If you are on the spectrum you are welcome to take part. Anyone can take part to learn more about autism spectrum disorders. Most of the prizes are geared to children and young adults with autism or asperger syndrome. Some prizes are available to US members only, others are for US and Canada with International available for a few as well. It will be noted when tweeting about the prize who is eligible to receive it.

I do recommend opening one window in www.summize.com to follow #ASD and have one window open in twitter to post your own tweets. You will click on reply at summize to tweets you see in summize and this will open a new window with the reply @ already listed in box to tweet.

Holy crap it was late last night... I'm only just realizing I totally screwed up your WHOLE mr. linky. People always screw up and DON'T leave their twit url.. and there I did it. I really thought you wanted blogs listed...sorry.

If you know everyone's twit url you can easiy edit the list yourself. log into blenza.com then click on widgets, then open the widget for today, you will see everyone listed, and can edit each one individually? I'm so sorry about the extra work. I cam here to get a twitter url of someone on your list who talked with me just now on my blog but she doesn't have her twitter url listed on her blog... email me?

Hi Bonnie, this is awesome. I kind of goofed. Can you delete #94, I added Mickies blog by mistake instead of my twitter profile. Talk to you Monday! :)

kellyj said...

I hope to get Twitter figured out by then. Thanks for doing this.

OK, I'm a newbie at this but willing to give it a try. I've been twittering for a while covering my 3 kids ages 9,6 and now 9mo. My 9yr old Trevor is a great kid on the spectrum and though limited verbally, he knows how to communicate.

See, I already managed to mess it up and entered wrong twitter, sorry.

I just discovered this by scanning Twitter. I will try to participate on Tuesday!

I've known about this for a while, but didn't realize I needed to RSVP. Looking forward to it, even though we're still awaiting our diagnosis.

Shoot! You can delete #109 -- Mr. Linky did the auto-fill with my blog URL and I pressed "enter" before thinking -- I then added my twitter ID and URL, but couldn't delete my previous entry. Sorry 'bout that!

Same username as I use everywhere else. :)

I almost missed this one! I'm a writer and a primary at home care person for my autistic son. He's high functioning, very smart and we are very lucky that he has a good outlook. That doesn't mean it's easy to get him to get past his frustrations and apply himself.

Looking forward to it. Great work putting this together! We will spread the word.
